Fillings

A tooth filling is a dental procedure that is used to restore a damaged or decayed tooth. The procedure involves removing the damaged or decayed part of the tooth and filling the resulting cavity with a material that will help to restore the tooth’s shape, function, and strength.

The Dentist will numb the area and then use a dental drill to remove the decayed or damaged part of the tooth. The dentist will then shape the cavity so that it can be filled. The filling material is then placed into the cavity and shaped to match the contours of the tooth.

How Long Will My Filling Last?

The materials we use are hardwearing and long-lasting and bond very strongly with natural teeth so it will be several years before your filling needs replacing. We do regularly check the condition of all our tooth fillings as no restoration will last forever and it is important to replace fillings as they become older and before they begin to leak or crumble.
